It's A Small Army
On Saturday night after watching the Army Navy Game we got invited with my FIL to his bosses house who he works with at the Pentagon. We decided to go for an hour or so and brought Miss Madison with us which was brave considering it was way past her bedtime and I am always anxious of her running around and breaking things in other peoples houses, especially a Col in the Army who I don't know yet! Anyway, it was a lot of fun and we got talking to some other people that were at the house and this one lady mentioned she had just come from GA too. As details were swapped Mr Soldier realised that this lady's husband had been his Battalion Commander in Iraq for two months when he was "borrowed" by another unit for a mission. How crazy is that?!! It is just another reminder that the Army is a small small world so always behave and don't be too sad to say goodbye to friends as they may very well turn up again!

So true. I just met up with a girl that I kind of knew from when we were stationed in Hawaii 2 duty stations ago!
ReplyDeleteJust wait until you've been in for several years! After 23 years in the Marine Corps, my parents ended up retiring a mile down the road from two sets of military family friends. You can guarantee that you will continue to run into people!
ReplyDeleteThis is so true!! I run into army friends all the time at the most random of places :)
ReplyDeleteLove this reminder!
